WSU Hosts World Radiology Day Conference

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University is hosting a "World Radiology Day" conference Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to showcase the important contributions radiographers, technologists, and radiation therapists make to improving global health.

“This event is for students and alumni to appreciate and celebrate the importance of international competency and global health concerns,” said Robert Walker, Radiological Sciences chair. “Ultimately, the hope is to learn and provide skills that makes us all better citizens of the world.”

The day will include presentations from radiological leaders around the country.

9:30-10:20 a.m. Casey Neville, WSU radiologic sciences assistant professor

10:30-11:20 a.m. Chris Steelman, American Society of Radiologic Technologists chair

11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Donna Thaler Long, International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists council member

1:30-2:30 p.m. Rebecca Schwartz, WSU Study Abroad director

2:30-3 p.m. Chandler McDonald, WSU student

The event is free, including a light breakfast and lunch. Technologists and therapists who attend will receive continuing education credit needed to maintain their certification. For more information, call 801-626-6057
