Pulitzer Prize-Winning NY Times Columnist to Visit WSU

UPDATE: Due to an unexpected delay in his travel arrangements, Nicholas Kristof's midday convocation has been postponed until 6:30 p.m., Oct. 13.

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof will deliver a convocation address at WSU on Oct. 13. The two-time Pulitzer Prize winning columnist will speak at 12:30 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

Kristof joined the Times in 2001 and has written columns that shed light on human rights abuses in Africa and Asia. He is the author of several books, including the forthcoming “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.” 

During his visit, Kristof also will take part in a panel discussion at 6:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Theater. Kristof’s presentations, part of the Convocations Lecture series, are free to the public.
