Underwater Explorer, Treasure Hunter to Speak at WSU

World-renowned underwater explorer and treasure hunter Barry Clifford will speak at Weber State University at noon, Sept. 24 in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

Best known for his discovery of the pirate shipwreck “The Wydah,” his archeological work in recovering items from the wreck helped illuminate the material culture of 18th century piracy. Clifford has been instrumental in discovering other shipwrecks off the coast of Cape Cod, in New York’s East River, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean.

Clifford’s presentation, part of WSU’s Convocation lecture series, is free to the public.
