Emergency Care and Rescue Accredited
Weber State University's Department of Emergency Care & Rescue recently was awarded continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
The organization noted many of the department's strong points and didn't have any recommendations for changes or improvement. Among the strengths mentioned in the report were outstanding faculty, equipment and resources. The report also mentioned the success of the distance-learning program, which has provided paramedics to remote communities throughout Utah and other states.
The Department of Emergency Care & Rescue offers emergency medical technician and paramedic programs and has been accredited for more than 25 years. More than 95 percent of paramedic students are employed upon graduation.
