Ogden to Hold Pep Rally for Wildcats

OGDEN, Utah – The City of Ogden will hold a pep rally for the Weber State
University men’s and women’s basketball teams tonight at 7 p.m. at the Ogden Amphitheater.

 Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey has declared Tuesday, “Purple Day” in Ogden and encouraged the community to wear purple in honor of both teams earning NCAA tournament berths. The free event will feature purple ice cream, music and cheerleaders.

 The teams will receive a police escort from the Dee Events Center to the amphitheater. Head coaches Joe Cravens and Carla Taylor will address the crowd, along with players from both teams.

 At the conclusion of the event, the men’s team will head for the airport to catch a flight to Spokane, Washington, the site of its Thursday night game against the University of Wisconsin.  The women fly to Louisiana on Friday, in preparation for their Sunday meeting with Ohio State University.
