Outdoor Stewardship Panel Discussion Set for Feb. 24

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University's Environmental Issues committee will present a panel discussion on outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship at noon on Feb. 24 in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

The panel will address Ogden's burgeoning status as an outdoor mecca with the addition of recreation companies like Descente and Amer Sports. The discussion also will explore what outdoor enthusiasm brings to a community, whether this enthusiasm could threaten wilderness areas and what changes recreationists may bring to the local political landscape.

Panelists will include Ogden City Mayor Matt Godfrey; Peter Metcalf, president and CEO of Black Diamond Equipment; Mary Hall, treasurer of Weber Pathways; Kari Dunn, outlet regional manager for Patagonia; and Jeremy Town, finance manager for Amer Sports.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
