WSU Joins with State in Mourning Gordon B. Hinckley
Weber State University joins with the state of Utah in mourning the passing of President Gordon B. Hinckley. WSU bestowed an honorary doctorate of humanities on President Hinckley in May 1999. President Hinckley also visited the Ogden campus in November 2001 to dedicate the David O. McKay Education Building.
Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. has authorized the lowering of the national and state flags beginning today, Monday, Jan. 28, in honor of Gordon B. Hinckley, the 15th president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who died Sunday, Jan. 27. Flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities throughout the week and will be raised following funeral services.
