Local Youth Art Exhibit on Display

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University Student Association recently sponsored an art contest to encourage local youth to pursue a college education.

The Dream On Art Contest invited Ogden youth involved with Head Start, Children at Risk Extended School (CARES) and Project Central to create pieces of art, music and writing that would demonstrate how a college education would help them achieve their dreams. Children had to be between 3 and 14 years old to participate.

“The display contains several amazing pieces,” said Marci Rigby, WSUSA vice president of service.

The winning pieces will be on display in the Stewart Library and the Shepherd Union Building through February. The display also includes information on how WSU students can mentor area youth.
