Weber State’s outdoor recreation entrepreneurship emphasis teaches students who want to build their outdoor skillset in classes like rock climbing and cross-country skiing while preparing them for their future careers as entrepreneurs in the outdoor recreation industry.

Outdoor Recreation Entrepreneurship Highlights

Turn your passion into your profession with Weber State’s outdoor recreation entrepreneurship emphasis in outdoor & community recreation education. This degree provides an integrated course of study in partnership with the Goddard School of Business. In addition, students will develop the attitudes and skills to create and launch an outdoor venture.

Beyond the Classroom

You will gain hands-on training from industry experts, access to multiple internship opportunities and the certifications necessary to graduate prepared to enter the industry as the next generation of professionals. Coursework for this degree track covers topics such as business fundamentals, accounting and finance, sales and marketing and outdoor equipment production and retailing. Students in this program are also eligible to participate in several business competitions with awards ranging from $250-$30,000 to help with business start-up costs.
