ADMISSIONS & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
 

• BACHELOR'S DEGREE

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. 
    • If the major is not Accounting, we'll work out a path to help you get the tax knowledge you need to meet your career goals.

• TWO (2) LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

  NOTE: Only non-accounting Weber State undergraduate students and students from other schools will require letters of recommendation.

  Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from professors or employers. At least 1 of these letters should come from an individual who can evaluate the applicant's academic abilities.  All letters should address the applicant's potential for successful graduate study.

• OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

• CURRENT RESUME
  • Applicants should upload a current resume in the online application form. 
  • The resume should include telephone numbers and an e-mail address as well as a summary of educational background and work experience.
• GMAT/GRE REQUIREMENTS (waivers available)

  An automatic GMAT waiver is available for applicants with A 3.0 overall GPA from a regionally accredited university and an accounting GPA of 3.3 from an AACSB accredited university or 3.5 from a non-AACSB accredited university. Applicants that do not meet these thresholds may still request a non-automatic waiver based on work experience and other factors. Contact the MTax Director: rpace@weber.edu.

• ONLINE APPLICATION
  • All applications must be submitted online. 
  • Applicants must create a user account before completing the application.
    • Once you have a user account, login to complete the application. 
  • Official copies of transcripts, international transcript evaluations, TOEFL scores (int'l applicants), and GMAT or GRE scores should be sent directly to the MTax Program Office.
  • All application requirements must be received prior to the application deadline (including mailed items such as GMAT/GRE and transcripts).
  • The application portal will display when required items have been received. Log on to track and complete.
  • Incomplete online applications will not be accessible after the end of each application cycle.  Individuals re-applying to the MTax program should contact the MTax office to have their applications reactivated. 
  • Each application must be accompanied by a $60 (U.S.) MTax application fee (NON-REFUNDABLE) ($80 for international / non-U.S. resident applicants) (NON-REFUNDABLE). This may be paid online with a credit card using the online application form.  Personal checks or money orders are also accepted, and should be made payable to Weber State University and sent to the MTax Program Office at the address below.  Please make sure your name is clearly written on your check. Applications will not be reviewed until payment is received.
  • International applicants must submit all application materials to the MTax program and to Weber State University at least 60 days prior to their proposed date of entry to the program in order to allow for international admission requirements.
  • Print and keep a copy of your completed application for your records.

  
  ONLINE APPLICATION  

• INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

  All international students and any applicant educated outside the U.S. must demonstrate proficiency in English. Those whose native language is not English, or whose language of instruction for their undergraduate degree was not English, will be required to submit a score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which is not more than two years old and on which a minimum score of 80 (Internet-based TOEFL) or 6.5 (IELTS) has been earned with a minimum of 5.0 on each section.

  International students must have their transcripts evaluated for equivalent course work by an accredited agency. Contact the International Student Scholar Center at 801-626-6853 for more information.

  International students must also pay the foreign student application fee for WSU and should contact the International Student & Scholar Center at 801-626-6853 and Admissions at 801-626-6005 for more information.

• MAILING INSTRUCTIONS

  If you are mailing any application materials directly, use a 9" x 12" (or page-sized) envelope to mail your application.

  Do not insert application materials into a binder or notebook of any kind. Print your name and return address on the upper left-hand corner of the envelope.
