Collaboration and Sustainable by Design Awards

The Intermountain Sustainability Summit (ISS) community recognizes the importance of collaboration and partnership efforts to build a sustainable future. In 2024, the ISS is presenting two awards at the event, the ISS Collaboration Award and the ISS Sustainable by Design Award.

This year the criteria for award nominations is based on social and environmental frameworks, as outlined by author Kate Raworth in Doughnut Economics. Nominations deadlines for both awards have been extended  to Wednesday, February 14, 2024.  

All members of the intermountain sustainability community may nominate themselves and/or others by filling out the corresponding nomination form. 

ISS Collaboration Award Nomination 
ISS Sustainable by Design Nomination  

The ISS Collaboration Award will focus on cross sectional partnerships and collaborations across the Intermountain West focused on advancing sustainable practices and socially equitable solutions. 

The Sustainable by Design Award will recognize those in our community who are cultivating innovative projects that advance social and/or ecological sustainability through dynamic design and creative, equitable solutions. 

Eligibility:

  • The ISS Awards are for those living and/or working in the Intermountain West. 
  • Everyone is welcome to submit nominations for themselves or others. 

Nomination Requirements

Please include:

  1. Primary collaborators 
  2. Location(s) of collaboration's impact 
  3. Summary of partnership 
  4. Relation to social and ecological boundaries.
  5. Estimated impact and reach of project and/or collaboration. 

Judging Criteria 

  • The narrative – How compellingly is the project's story. Please include imagery.
  • The solutions - How the project advances social and ecological solutions (Doughnut Economics).  
  • The scope of impact – What is the impact of the collaboration or project.
