Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory

Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory

Revised 06/26/01

What aspects of Weber State University do our students care most about? How can we best meet our students’ expectations? How do we compare with similar institutions nationwide? The answers to these questions can be found in the Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI).

Beginning in 1973 as an admissions consulting firm, today Noel-Levitz has a vision to lead the charge for total enrollment effectiveness in higher education for two-year and four-year colleges and universities, public and independent, large and small. The 80 member Noel-Levitz team operates from Colorado, Iowa and Ontario, Canada. Over the course of their 28-year history, Noel-Levitz has assisted more than 1,600 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada.

The SSI has approximately 100 questions which ask students to rate both the importance of their specific expectations of Weber State University, as well as their satisfaction with how well those expectations are being met. The SSI is administered, every third year during the spring semester, to a cross-section sample of Weber State University students during regular class times of selected courses. Student responses to the SSI questions are categorized into 12 factors, many of which correlate with Weber State University mission-related learning outcomes:
