REC 1621 — Snowboarding Level 2

Description

Snowboarding Level 2 teaches new snowboarders the basic skills needed to safely snowboard intermediate in-bounds terrain (on ski resort property). This course is hosted by Powder Mountain Resort. Students will learn snowboarding movement skills to successfully navigate intermediate downhill slopes and ride in control at greater speeds.

Prerequisites & Equipment

Prior to participation in Skiing Level 2, students must have either 1) completed Snowboarding Level 1 or 2) be confident and controlled snowboarding on beginner (green) slopes. Snowboards are available for rent from the Weber State University Outdoor Program at a discounted rate for students enrolled in the class. Students must provide their own transportation, water and snacks and appropriate clothing.

Schedule & Location

Snowboarding Level 2 is offered during the first block of the spring semester. Multiple sections of the course allows students to choose a two-hour afternoon meeting either Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. The course meets on the resort property at Powder Mountain.
