REC 1620 — Snowboarding Level 1

Description

Snowboarding Level 1 teaches novice students the basic skills needed to safely snowboard in-bounds (on ski resort property). This course is hosted by Powder Mountain Resort. Students will learn basic snowboarding movement skills to successfully navigate beginner downhill slopes in a controlled manner.

Prerequisites & Equipment

Students must be able to participate in physical activity. Snowboards are available for rent from the Weber State University Outdoor Program at a discounted rate for students enrolled in the class. Students must provide their own transportation, water and snacks and appropriate clothing.

Schedule & Location

Snowboarding Level 1 is offered during the first block of the spring semester. Multiple sections of the course allows students to choose a two-hour afternoon meeting either Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. The course meets on the resort property at Powder Mountain.
