REC 1527 — Rock Climbing Level 1


Rock Climbing Level 1 teaches novice students the skills necessary to safely participate in indoor rock climbing on their own. The class takes place at the Weber State University climbing wall in the Wildcat Arena, which is free for student use. Students learn basic climbing movement skills, top rope belaying and lead climbing and belaying.

Prerequisites & Equipment

Students must be able to participate in physical activity. Harnesses, climbing shoes and hardware are provided, though students may use their own equipment with instructor approval.

Schedule & Location

Rock Climbing Level 1 is offered each block of each semester, spring, summer and fall. The course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings or Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Weber State University climbing wall.
