Kayaking teaches novice students the basic skills necessary to safely participate in entry-level whitewater kayaking on their own. The class visits local rivers to familiarize students with nearby paddling options they can explore after the course. Students learn about water safety, basic paddle strokes and craft maneuvers including how to roll, self-rescue, and hydrology and river navigation
