Shoeboxes for Veterans

2014 Shoeboxes for Veterans

Shoe Boxes for Veterans is a public service project through the Veterans Upward Bound program at Weber State University.

They served our country and now it is time for us to do something nice for them at a time when they might feel more alone than any other time of the year.

Contact the Veterans Upward Bound office at 801-626-7173 for details or to ask questions.

To Participate:

  1. Use your own shoebox or pick up one from Veterans Upward Bound (Now available while the supply lasts but you are urged to provide your own wrapped box.) Annex 12, Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  2. Fill shoebox with suggested items listed below and add your own touch (candy, paperback book, small decoration, note of encouragement, etc.). Ensure all items are non perishables. Please no monetary gifts. Sizes needed: 15%-M, 55%-L, 25%-XL, 4%-2XL, 1%- 3XL
  3. Wrap box with decorative wrapping paper. Boxes must be stacked during transport so please do not use bows or hard ornaments. (Remember paper around soft gifts tears easily.)
  4. Remove the bottom portion of the flyer and note the items and sizes in the box. This will ensure the right individual receives the correct items. Attach to the outside of the wrapped box.
  5. Return the completed box to Veteran’s Upward Bound no later than Wednesday, December 10, 2014.
