You need Grit

Angela Lee Duckwort at the University of Pennsylvania states that, “The significant predictor is not social intelligence, good looks, good heath or I.Q.  It is grit.  Grit is passion and perseverance for very long term goals.  Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in and day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years and working really hard to make that future a reality.  Grit is living life like it is a marathon, not a sprint. You can hear her speak about this at http://www.ted.com/talks/angela_lee_duckworth_the_key_to_success_grit.html .
