Rationale for this indicator as a valid measure of achievement
This is one of two achievement indicators for the LEARNING core theme about student SUCCESS. The objective is that
Students learn to succeed as educated persons and professionals. This indicator focuses on achieving the goals of the Major programs while the other focuses on achieving the goals of the General Education program.Each WSU Major has established learning objectives to prepare students to succeed within that discipline. Achievement of these objectives, as measured by performance on standardized exams and local assessments, measures the effectiveness of the Major programs in facilitating student learning.
