|Originally from New York and New Jersey, Yesenia graduated from Weber State University in Spring 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies. As an undergraduate student, she became involved with Ogden-Weber Community Action Partnership in a research project designed to help Head Start students and their families be familiarize with higher education and career goals. She loved the project so much that she stayed on as a supplemental instructor and research assistant to the project following her stint as a practicum student.
Yesenia started working for State GEAR UP in February 2013 as a College Access Advisor for Layton High School and Central Davis Junior High. She loved working with students and getting to know the awesome staff at the schools. In December 2013, she moved into the position of Data Specialist to accommodate her new status a second time mom. Although she misses her students, she enjoys her new position ensuring that data management of the program runs smoothly.
When not at work, Yesenia loves spending her free time with her husband Luis and their two children.
