Andrea's Bio

Andrea Curtis | Senior Transition Specialist
Andrea Curtis Born and raised in West Bountiful, Utah, Andrea graduated with honors from the University of Utah with Bachelor's in English & Spanish Education, then taught high school and junior high school in Idaho and later  in Davis County, Utah. She become involved in local government management and subsequently earned a Master's in Public Administration from the Romney Institute, Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.

She began working as a Senior Transition Specialist for Statewide GEAR UP in March 2013, and considers this to be the best job she's ever had. She loves working with students and seeing their lives transform as they transition from high school to college. "There's nothing better than seeing students become aware of all the possibilities they have and all the support that is in place to help them succeed in their educational dreams," she says. "It's magical to see their faces light up and their lives take on meaning and purpose."

Andrea loves to read, spend time with her large extended family, snuggle with her animals, and eat anything baked that doesn't have tree nuts - especially if it does have chocolate. Favorite vacations include camping in Montana and visiting Michigan, and she enjoys board games and action/adventure movies.
