Student Success Center - Assessment & Placement Policy

The Assessment & Placement Policy Student Information Session can now conveniently be completed ONLINE!

If you were informed that you need to attend this session, read on…

Before you start the Information Session and complete the related paperwork, you need to take your required Accuplacer tests. Accuplacer information can be found at weber.edu/accuplacer. Accuplacer test scores are valid for one year. If you are unsure if you are required to take an Accuplacer test, contact the Student Success Center at 801-626-6752 (option 5).

Session and Paperwork Directions

If you very carefully follow these instructions, your related registration hold should be expired by the end of the day following the Student Success Center's receipt of your complete packet of materials. In total, the steps should take approximately 30 minutes. So you can efficiently work through them, read through all the directions before you begin. Reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you!

  1. Turn on your computer speakers and then view/listen to the 3-minute Online Assessment & Placement Student Information Session.

  2. Print and complete the Assessment & Placement Policy Agreement [PDF][Word]. To avoid a delay in the release of your related registration hold, fully and accurately complete it. Review the WSU Assessment & Placement Standards document to know which math and/or English classes you need to write on the Agreement. For help completing the Agreement, view the sample. After your registration hold is released, an advisor-signed copy of this form will be mailed to you.

  3. Print and complete the Evaluation [PDF][Word]. This feedback will help us best meet WSU students’ needs.

  4. Print and complete the “open book” Assessment & Placement Policy Quiz [PDF][Word] that consists of six questions. Questions were pulled from information in the above resources. Five correct answers are required for the expiration of your registration hold. We will contact you with the correct information if you get any wrong.

  5. If this is your second required Assessment & Placement Policy Session hold, complete one more item. Print off and complete the Progress Survey [PDF][Word] that will help us best meet WSU students’ needs.

  6. Mail, fax, or deliver your Evaluation, Assessment & Placement Policy Agreement, and Quiz [and Progress Survey, if applicable] to:
