Dr. Linda Eaton, Professor - Anthropology

Dr. Linda Eaton (BA Rice 1974, MA Brown 1978, PhD Brown 1983) has strong interests in both cultural anthropology and archaeology, in particular the use of art and symbol in cultures through time. Within the program she teaches courses in American Indian ethnology, both a general overview of the subject and also a more intensive course on Native Peoples of the U.S. Southwest. She also teaches the Archaeology of Early Civilizations and a specialty course on The Celtic World. In connection with the latter courses, she has taken students on a variety of summer study-abroad courses, including the Pyramids of Mexico, the Celtic Edge of Britain (Scotland, Wales, and the West Country) and the History and Culture of Ireland.
