Professor Trentelman teaches core classes such as classical sociological theory and research methods, as well as electives for Sociology in environment and society, medicine and health care in society, and sociology of education, family, and of gender, among others. She also enjoys teaching introductory classes including both introduction to sociology and social problems.
Her primary research interests focus on communities, rural areas, and natural resources and the environment - particularly issues related to the Great Salt Lake.
Dr. Tretelman completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at Utah State University, after working nearly 20 years in addictions counseling. She completed her bachelor's degree at Weber State in 1982.
