Transfer Student Scholarships

Students who are not currently enrolled at Weber State University.  To be considered a transfer student, you will need to have completed 12 semester credit hours at an accredited college or university.

To be eligible for scholarships, please complete the following:

  • Complete the application for admission to WSU
  • Send your official transcripts (high school and any college/university work) to Admissions by February 1.  (An official transcript is one stamped and placed in a sealed envelope by the issuing party.  If this envelope is opened, this transcript cannot be accepted.)
  • Pay the $30.00 nonrefundable processing fee, made payable to Weber State University.

Available Scholarships

Academic: 

  • The academic scholarships are based on your cumulative GPA from your transfer work.  The minimum required grade point average will vary, depending on the number of applicants and the average GPA’s of the applicants. 

High Honors/Honors  Transfer Scholarship:

  • Awarded to transfer students for first year of study at WSU
  • One-year (2 semester) waiver of full or half in-state tuition
  • Based on cumulative transfer GPA        
  • Must maintain full-time status and a 3.50 cumulative GPA

Wildcat Leadership Scholarship

  • Awarded to transfer students for their first year at WSU
  • Based on leadership experiences and community involvement
  • One-year (2 semester) waiver of half in-state tuition
  • Must maintain full-time status, a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be active in Student Government/Activities

Wildcat Activity Scholarships:

  • Awarded to students who participate in campus activities, including
    Athletics, Bowling, Cheerleading, Debate, Honors, KWCR Radio, Rodeo, Performing Arts, Signpost, Visual Arts, Science Programs, Hockey, Soccer and Women’s Fastpitch Softball

Financial Need-Based Scholarships:

  • Awarded to students with financial need
  • To receive priority consideration for need based scholarships, you must apply for Federal Financial Aid by submiting the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before the March 1 deadline.  Verification for need based scholarships must reach the Scholarship Office by June 1.
  • Requirements vary per scholarship

Donor-Sponsored Departmental Scholarships:

  • Awarded through the academic college of your departmental major
  • Priority given to continuing students with 60+ hours
  • Requirements vary per funding account
  • It is your responsibility to see that your major is declared correctly 

Donor-Sponsored Special-Condition Scholarships:

  • Awarded to students fitting very specific criteria
  • In some instances, verification must be provided to the Scholarship Office.  Students will be contacted by Wildcat Email requesting this  additional information and verification.  (Set up your Wildcat Email account here.)
