Club Divisions

There are four possible classifications for Club Sports to choose to fall under. Each category has its own requirements to maintain the level and limitations on funding from Student Fees (covered in funding and purchasing section). The four categories are as follows recreational, competitive-recreational I, competitive-recreational II, and competitive.

 

- Recreational -

Recreational category is the best fit for a Club Sport wishing to just meet with others whom like to play a particular sport and play/practice the sport as a group. There is no competition within this group. As such, these groups do not travel.

Requirements:

  • Practice at least once a week, on average.
  • Allow all to join.
  • Have 10 active members.

Clubs in this category:

  • Badminton
  • Free Running/Parkour
  • Martial Arts 

 

- Competitive-Recreational I -

Competitive-recreational I Club Sports seek to function at a recreational level with some travel or desire to have a non-competitive and competitive side.

  • Practice 2 times a week on average
  • 60% of competitive members must travel for at least 1 competition
  • Teams must have at least 5 competitions
  • Allow all to join the recreational half
  • Need to have at least 5 active competitive and 10 active recreational members. (members will be defined on what portion they fulfill by the club leaders.
  • Money must be split 50/50 between sides of the club (unless otherwise stated and voted upon in an addendum to the Constitution)

  • Billiards
  • Climbing
  • Cycling

- Competitive-Recreational II -

Competitive-recreational II Club Sports seek to have a non-competitive and competitive side with hire focus on the competitive side.

Requirements:

  • Practice 2 times a week on average
  • 90% of competitive members must travel for at least 1 competition
  • Teams must have at least 5 competitions
  • Allow all to join the recreational half
  • Need to have at least 10 active competitive and 10 active recreational members. (members will be defined on what portion they fulfill by the club leaders.
  • Money must be split 50/50 between sides of the club (unless otherwise stated and voted upon in an addendum to the Constitution)

  • Baseball
  • Bowling
  • Paintball
  • Triathlon
  • Wrestling

- Competitive -

This is a club wishes to compete at a high level, whether locally, regionally, or nationally. Competitive Clubs are expected to join a league, sanctioned preferred, and compete.

Requirements:

  • Practice 2-3 times a week
  • 90% of members must travel for at least 1 competition
  • Have at least 10 competitions
  • Need to have at least 15 active members
