Call for Undergraduate Research Papers

If you have completed a research paper in a psychology-related field, we’d like to invite you to submit your paper for publication in the Undergraduate Journal of Psychology at Berkeley!

Psychology at Berkeley is a biannual publication that allows undergraduate students who have completed scientific studies in psychology to disseminate their findings to the undergraduate
community at large, thereby promoting excellence in and encouraging further undergraduate research in psychology.

Psychology at Berkeley is currently accepting submissions for its third edition, to be published during Winter 2009.

Psychology at Berkeley accepts and reviews submissions from all psychology-related fields, as long as the papers are the original work of undergraduate students; this includes senior honors theses, course term papers, independent research projects, theoretical papers, and all other excellent undergraduate writing. Multiple submissions from one author are welcome.

To submit an original research article for review and publication, please attach a word or pdf copy of the article in an e-mail to berkpsychjournal@gmail.com. Please verify that your submission does
not contain any identifying information (to ensure anonymity during the selection process), but do include your full name, paper title, telephone number, and preferred e-mail address in the body of your e-mail message.

The deadline to submit papers is midnight on October 31, 2009. However, papers received earlier will have higher priority. Applicants will be notified by November as to whether or not their papers have been selected for publication.

For more information about the journal, and to view past editions, please visit our website at www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ujpb/. If you have any questions about or difficulty in submitting your paper, contact berkpsychjournal@gmail.com for further information.

We look forward to reading your submissions!

Psych Club/Psi Chi fundraiser

Psi Chi has teamed up with a local screenprinting business to design a great water bottle (click here for a picture) that shows your pride in the Psychology Department.  The water bottle is 24 oz and made of a translucent purple Lexan polycarbonate with a spring loaded flip-top lid.  All proceeds support our Club's Travel Awards and other professional activities.

Water bottles are only $10 each, and are discounted to only $8 for all students who have joined Psychology Club or Psi Chi and paid their dues in the 2008-2009 academic year.

Please place your order with Dr. Shaw (faculty advisor) and make any checks payable to "Psi Chi." Orders should be available for pick-up after spring break.
