looking for a work study student to work as an office aide.
Responsibilities include reception, copy work, some typing, answering
phones, basic office coverage, and other duties as assigned. This

ETS Data SpecialistETS Data Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance of office files, which includes filing of records and confidential information, and keeping the information in the files current with the database. Administer the purging, retention, and protection of data for the program. Assist in the management of database tracking and organization/completion of student files, which may include running reports, data entry, follow-up phone calls to parents, and data requests from district, schools, and advisors. Use a mainframe, personal computer or workstation/network to enter/format text, data, or graphic images to design, produce, and print documents and reports. Design and/or customize simple documents, databases, or spreadsheets. Report to the program coordinator the progress of the files, and the status of any missing or incomplete data.The general hours for the Data Specialist are 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, flexible between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Requirements Experience working with a database. Experience and competency working with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, Publisher.] Work Study Eligible. Preferred Criteria: Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; ability to work autonomously and with small groups; Preference will be given to individuals who are bilingual in Spanish. AmeriCorps VISTA Community Outreach AdvocateThis position will work with specific initiatives within Education Access and Outreach and will directly serve parents and adult students who come from a non-traditional setting (i.e. adult and alternative education, community agencies). Services are focused on empowering parents to gain the knowledge and resources to help their at-risk child be successful in their academic and personal life and provide assistance in their own educational pursuits. Duties will include organizing bilingual parent education groups, coordinating local outreach activities for underrepresented communities, providing educational resources and referrals within local community agencies, and providing recruitment and enrollment assistance to post-secondary programs.REQUIREMENTS: College degree; strong interest and experience in college service programs; experience working with students and diverse groups of people; leadership ability; public speaking skills; strong writing and organizational skills; ability to drive; ability to make a full-year commitment. Have a general understanding of college resources. Acquirable Skills: 1. Outreach development, delivery, and outcome evaluation methods 2. Professional networking and collaboration 3. Experience working with low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented communities, particularly Hispanic/Latinos 4. Community partnership cultivation and sustainability 5. Ability to speak Spanish/English AmeriCorps VISTA College Access Advocate: This position will work with specific initiatives within Education Access and Outreach and will directly serve underrepresented youth and their families in expanding college access services and activities, specifically in Northern Utah school districts. Duties will include cultivating partnerships with school personnel and communities, developing effective programming, seeking resources, working with college student outreach advocates to provide appropriate activities for these populations, including recruitment and enrollment assistance to post-secondary programs. REQUIREMENTS: College degree; strong interest and experience in college service programs; experience working with students and diverse groups of people; leadership ability; public speaking skills; strong writing and organizational skills; ability to drive; ability to make a full-year commitment.
