Pre-Pharmacy Students looking to pursue a degree in pharmacy need to prepare right away to be ready for application to pharmacy schools. Also, you need to understand that you are required to follow Weber State University's policies and procedures and possible financial aid policies while completing your pre-pharmacy course work. This may result in the need for choosing a "back up major" until acceptance to Pharmacy school is acquired. Your first step in planning a schedule is knowing where you place in Chemistry and Mathmatics. These provide a foundation for other required pre-pharmacy courses. The second step is determining how many credits you plan on taking a semester. Full time is 12 credits, which is approx. 38-40 hours a week of classwork, homework, and necessary study. Many students will take more than 12, please speak with your advisor if you have any questions. The thrid step is meeting with your advisor. Dr. Davies or Ali Miller will help you understand and know what courses are required for both your pre-pharmacy program and general education. These advisors can also help you in choosing the appropriate courses to take together. For some suggestions please feel free to look at the below information guides.
