Dental School Application | |||
|
Application to most U.S. and Canadian dental schools is coordinated through the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS). A single AADSAS application provides all required information for any AADS school and should be submitted on or after June 1st. In addition to this application AADS schools require the Dental Admission Test (DAT). The DAT may be taken at any time. In regards to suggested schedule, it is usually taken between May and August the year you apply. December 1st is when the first letters of acceptance can be sent out from Dental Schools. For more information go to the American Dental Education Association's web site. Increase your chances for acceptance to a dental school by:1. Have a strong science and overall GPA. (3.6 or better) 2. Study hard and doing well on the DAT. (18 or better) 3. Get EXCELLENT letters of recommendation. 4. Have dental experience (volunteer work). 5. Improve your manual dexterity (learn to knit, fix small appliances, play piano, etc.). 6. Get involved in extracurricular groups such as the Predental Society and/or department clubs. 7.
