Meetings to be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm in LL127 unless denoted otherwise.

AED is a pre-med society. It's a national organization for pre-med students and we have a chapter (utah-delta chapter) here at WSU. AED holds weekly meetings throughout the semester and discusses application information, brings in outside speakers (local physicians and representatives of various medical training programs) and organizes service projects around the community (we've participated in 'paint your heart out ogden' this year and are in the process of signing a contract with udot for an 'adopt a highway' program).

You have to be 1/2 way through your sophomore year to officially join (the national organization) and have an overall and science GPA (biology, chem, math and physics) of 3.2 or better. You can, however, participate in the activities and come to meetings even if you're not an official member. If one chooses to become an official member, you can run for office of our chapter, and you can put it on your med school application.

It costs $70 (one time membership fee), $20 of which stays locally and $50 of which goes to the national organization. you get a copy of the AED Scalpel -- their magazine) 2 times each year.
