The scholarship consists of payment for tuition, fees, other reasonable educational costs, and a monthly support stipend.
In return, the students agree to provide one (1) year of service in the Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) of greatest need to which they are assigned for each school year or partial school year of scholarship support received, with a minimum 2-year service commitment and a maximum 4-year commitment.

The Application consists of the online application and other supporting documents as outlined in the Applicant Information Bulletin.
Please register to access the Online Application at https://scholarship.bcrs.hrsa.gov/. During registration you will be instructed to enter your email address and create a password. The email address you enter is the email address that the NHSC will use to contact you regarding your application and any program information in the future. Please enter the information carefully and only register with one email address. A registration confirmation notification email will be sent to you once you have registered. After registering you may login to complete the Online Application.
Your application will not be considered complete until the Online Application and all of the supporting documents and forms specified on the checklist in the AIB are submitted. The Online Application and supporting documents must be received by the Application Processing Center (APC) on or before the deadline noted in the AIB. Applicants whose applications and/or documents are received after the deadline are not eligible for a SP award in the current application cycle.
The Application Processing Center will send you an email to notify you of the receipt of your Online Application. If applicable, please change your email and spam settings to ensure that you receive messages from CallCenter@hrsa.gov directly to your Inbox. It is your responsibility to ensure that the NHSC has your correct, most reliable email address and contact information.
