Teacher Education

Results of Assessment

The Teacher Education Department began to redesign the student teaching evaluation forms to meet the revised state teaching standards during the summer of 2010.  They began working on the level CPI’s and curriculum alignment grids late fall, but this was put on hold as they began the Google TEd project in December, 2010.  The Google TEd project was a designed to engage the department in a program evaluation/exploration process.  As part of this process they began reviewing all of their student and program assessment instruments, curriculum, structure, policies and procedures.

For the 2010-11 Academic year, the student teaching data is pilot data, and the faculty met in the spring to review that data, standards, and forms.  However, the INTASC standards and state standards upon which the student outcomes are based were revised in June of 2011.  As the faculty will be completing their program redesign project in the fall of 2011, it was decided to wait on revising the curriculum grid and student outcomes until spring 2012, after all decisions regarding program changes and standards are made.   Thus the data collected for 2010-2011 is a mix of old and new assessment data, some of which do not align to the student outcome or curriculum grid, and most of the instruments will be drastically changed during spring 2012.
