 Credit Hours: Three.  Three hours of lecture per week.

 Topics Covered: Heat and work.  Ideal gases.  Equipartition of energy. Entropy.  Boltzmann, Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics.  Heat engines and refrigeration.  Chemical reactions.  Phase transitions.  Blackbody radiation.

 Skills Emphasized: General problem solving.  Relating thermal physics to real world applications.
