AAPT ID/UT Section Meeting

The Weber State University Physics Department will be hosting the AAPT ID/UT section meeting on March 11th and 12th, 2011.  The meeting will be held at Weber State University in beautiful Ogden, UT

The meeting will run from approximately 7:00 pm on Friday evening to 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, depending on the number of abstract submissions.  The on-site registration desk will be located on the first floor of Lind Lecture Hall, near where most conference activities will take place Campus map here.  The desk will open at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 11th.

 A special event is occurring on Thursday evening, March 10th, that the group may be interested in: Jim Kasting of Penn State University will be speaking on 'How to Find a Habitable Planet' at 7 pm in Lind Lecture Hall 125/126.  Jim invented the concept of a 'habitable zone', and will be speaking about the latest research in the search for habitable planets.

Information about Public Transportation from the hotel to campus: take the 603 bus from 26th Street or the transit station, it runs every 15 minutes!

On Friday and Saturday parking is free on campus in lots A4 and A5 and a pass is not required for people attending the conference.  (Map of Campus)

Information for Presenters:

Talks: Contributed talks will have 12 minutes: ten minutes for presentation followed by two minutes for questions or speaker change.  The presentation room is LL121, and is equipped with computer and projector system.   Presenters wishing to use their own computers should make sure they have a VGA output.
