Scholarship Auditions for Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Theatre Students
THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS February 7, 2015 at Val A. Browning Center
Weber State University Theatre has full and half tuition waivers available for incoming students. They are awarded to the students with the most potential, regardless of anticipated area of study. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be awarded a scholarship.
All perspective new theatre students will meet in the Allred Theatre, Browning Center (BC) at 9 a.m.
After introductions, the auditions for performers will be in BC 230, interviews for designers, technicians, and directors will be in BC 317, interviews for theatre education, playwriting, and dramaturgy will be in BC 318. If you would like to participate in more than one please let us know and we will accommodate you. We anticipate concluding around 2:00 pm and lunch will be provided.
Theatre: 2 contrasting monologues (1 minute each) Musical Theatre: 2 contrasting songs & 1 monologue - OR - 1 song & 2 contrasting monologues (1 minute each). Accompanist will be provided please bring clearly marked sheet music. Please bring a current headshot and resume.
For design, technical, management --
Evidence of previous theatre projects, which may include but are not limited to; a design portfolio, sketches, script analysis, renderings, photographs, models, actual projects and other artwork. Please bring a current resume.
For theatre education, playwriting, directing, and dramaturgy--
Please bring scripts, script analyses, production photos, portfolios and theatre education students should be prepared to teach a warm up exercise or theatre game.
