Winter Trails Series

Join us for our progression of snowshoe hiking/XC ski trips during spring 2024. This is an amazing opportunity to experience hiking in Ogden's backyard.

Morning Snowshoe Hike: February 3, 2024
Full Moon Snowshoe: February 24, 2024
Cross Country (XC) Ski: March 16, 2024
 

Time: Moonlit events will begin after dark. All other programs will take place in the morning. Specific meeting times will be sent out closer to the event.


WSU Student: $5 || WSU Faculty/Staff: $7.50  || $10 General Public


Skill Level: Beginner
Fitness Level: Moderate
Age: 18+


Transportation: Transportation NOT provided - plan to meet at the trailhead

Equipment Provided: Snowshoes and/or cross country skis will be provided by the Outdoor Program

Gear You Need to Bring: Please bring your own day pack, sturdy winter boots, food, water, appropriate layers***, and sun protection

***Dressing in appropriate layers is essential for comfort and safety during high output aerobic winter activities.  Be sure to wear wool or synthetic fabrics only (NO COTTON).  You should have a light wicking base-layer (long johns/janes), a light windproof layer (soft shell or windbreaker), a warm insulating layer (fleece, wool or puffy jacket), and depending on the forecast, a sturdy shell (rain jacket) is appropriate.  Heavy ski jackets are NOT recommended.
