Alpha Sigma Mu - Microbiology Club
Alpha Sigma Mu, provides valuable suggestions and services to the faculty and staff, promotes and publicizes microbiology as a science, investigates the possibility of outside financial aid resources, organizes field trips and arranges seminars with off-campus employers and graduate programs, promotes student research, gives students leadership experience and arranges social occasions within the Program. The current student officers and notices of meetings are posted.
American Society for Microbiology - Student Memeberships
Students are invited to join the American Society for Microbiology. This is the primary professional organization for microbiologists. Student members receive a monthly subscription to Microbe a general interest microbiology magazine, access to ASM’s career resources, including employment listings and discounts on registration to the annual meeting.
The national meeting is held in late May or early June. A regional meeting is held in March or April. Students are invited to submit abstracts to present at one or both meetings. Students can also apply for travel stipends from ASM.
