Submission Guidelines
ELIGIBILITY
Metaphor is now accepting entry submissions for the cover of our 29th literary journal. This is open to all current WSU students.
JUDGING OF PIECES
All of the entries will be viewed and judged by this year's Metaphor staff. Those we agree upon as our final best will then be open to the WSU student body for the final vote.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
To reiterate, the cover must have a bleed. The title "Metaphor" must be on the front page. The spine must have the "Title," the "Volume number (XXIX)," and "Weber State University," running vertically form top to bottom, reading from the left. "Weber State University" must be on the back. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in rejection. All submissions must be original work. Otherwise, this is open to creative interpretation.
You must submit a hard copy and an electronic copy on a CD to the English Department Office, EH 413, or the Metaphor Office, EH 252, in a manilla folder entitled, "Cover Entry," by NO LATER than NOVEMBER 20th, 2009.
FORMAT
The Electronic copy must either be in PSD (Photoshop) format, or PDFwith Photoshop editing capabilities saved. We will not accept any other format. All submissions must be saved in CMYK format and be at least 300 pixels.
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ENTERED THIS WAY. NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Submissions not following these guidelines are subject to rejection.

Be aware that the English department professors, secretaries, and staff are NOT responsible for deadlines, editing, or publication of your cover submissions. Metaphor staff is made up of student volunteers and publication is paid for by student fees.
