Our organization is only as strong as our weakest link

"A chain is only as strong as its weakest link." You've probably heard that expression many times, but have you ever thought of it in terms of the chain of processes your organization uses for product/service delivery?

A weak link, as you know, can affect quality, productivity and
the ability to be competitive. That’s why efficiency is critical in
every industry, including:

  • Manufacturing plants;
  • Hospitals and medical/dental offices;
  • Financial institutions;
  • Government agencies; and
  • Educational institutions.

Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is a systematic,
organization-wide approach to identifying weak links and seeking out process-improving opportunities. It has been hailed during the last few decades as being "necessary to compete" in an expanding global marketplace.

Weber State University's Continuing Education CPI Certificate Program uses the most recognized CPI methodologies—Theory of Constraints (TOC), Lean Thinking and Six Sigma—to teach participants how to establish a culture of continuous process improvement and thereby achieve maximum bottom-line results. This approach is known as CPI/TLS.
