Dr. Robert A. and Mrs. Margaret D. Clarke established this scholarship in 1993 in memory of their daughter, Mary Margaret, who died along with other Weber State students and their debate coach in an automobile accident in 1966. When Margaret passed away in 1999, Dr. Clarke, his family and friends further enhanced the scholarship fund in Margaret’s honor. The late Dr. Clarke was a Professor of Physics and a long-time administrator at Weber College. He held many influential positions, including serving as Dean of the Faculty and Administrative Vice President.Galli Scholarship
A few years ago, when Dr. Ron Galli was Dean of the College of Science, he and his wife Cheryl desired to make a major contribution to Weber State University. They wanted their donation to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who would benefit from it. Also, they wanted the gift to outlive them and gain in value over time. A fully funded scholarship endowment seemed like the perfect choice.
Dr. Galli wrote, “We have received immeasurable satisfaction and happiness as we witness students, whom initially we had never met, be able to further their education in physics, improve their lives, and move on to successful careers. “
