Best Buddies

Best Buddies Colleges works to match adults with intellectual disabilities with college students in one-to-one friendships. In the past, individuals with intellectual disabilities have not had the opportunity to have friends outside of their own, often-isolated environments. By becoming a College Buddy, volunteers offer a Buddy the chance to explore life in a new way.

The Best Buddies program is designed to enhance the lives of those with intellectual disabilities by providing them with friends their own age. However, those in the program know that it enhances the lives of volunteers so much more. It is an excellent way for those who have little or no experience with disabled persons to meet and learn about these special, wonderful people.

“No matter your intentions going into the program, you leave with a true friend and life-changing experiences.” ~Rob Ortega
