Common Questions

Where is the Bridges office located?

We are located in Room 265 of the Student Services Building.

What will Bridges cost me?

Participation is free to students who are registered for Fall 2012 courses at Weber State University. Students will pay regular tuition and fees for their Fall Semester classes. However, Bridge participants will receive assistance with applying for financial aid and scholarships to help fund their educational pursuits. Bridges is directly funded by Weber State University. This program funding source allows us to offer events and seminars at no cost to Summerbridge participants.

How can the mentors help me?

Mentors help students find the university resources they need to succeed. Mentors can assist students with applying for financial aid, finding and applying for scholarships, navigating the WSU student portal, and registering for classes. Additionally, mentors present workshops designed to give students necessary college skills and offer experience-based advice and answers to questions students may have.

Do I have to begin classes in the summer in order to participate in SmartStart?

The math and English workshops begin in June and run for four weeks, not including holidays.  It is important that those who select to participate in the math and English workshops are able to commit to this timeline and participate throughout the summer. If you are interested in receiving program services but are unable to attend the math and English workshops, you may still be able to participate in the other services offered by Bridges.
