The twenty-third annual Weber State University Automotive Contest (written portion) was held on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. There were approximately 550 participants from 45 schools, from 4 states this year (Utah, Idaho, Nevada & Wyoming). The students took a 50 question test which covers five automotive ASE areas.
The Skills/Hands-on portion of the contest was held February 19, 2009.
Approximately 550 students took the written test at Weber State University, with another 250 taking a proctored test in locations outside a 200-mile radius of WSU.
Airbrushing's greatest talent, Craig Fraser, created a custom WSU Wildcat as students watched.

The winners of the written contest were announced at the Union Ballroom.
The following twenty-five schools qualified for the Skills/Hands-on portion of the contest which will be held on February 19, 2009. Two students will be selected by their teacher to compete for a set of tools, a one year tuition waiver scholarship from Weber State University, and the chance for their school to win a late model car.
