The Weber State University Department of Health Promotion and Human Performance offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Athletic Training. Both are considered entry-level programs and serve as educational routes to eligibility for certification.
Students who do not currently possess a bachelor's degree will enter the Athletic Training major. Students who successfully complete this major are eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination to become a Certified Athletic Trainer. More information on this major is available under the "Undergraduate Program" link to the left.
Students who currently possess a bachelor's degree in an area other than Athletic Training are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program. This is a 2-year program, including one summer. This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Graduates are eligible for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination and an athletic training license in Utah. This program is not appropriate for students who already have undergraduate degrees in Athletic Training and/or those who are already Certified Athletic Trainers. More information on the MS in AT is available under the "Graduate Program" link to the left.
