Frequently Asked Questions

Criteria

  • Maintain a cumulative 3.75 GPA
  • Enroll in and successfully complete 15 - 18 hours of credit per semester
  • Enroll in at least one 3-credit hour Honors course per year
  • Complete at least 12 hours of service each year
  • Participate in at least one Aletheia book group each year

Conditions

  • Use in consecutive semesters within the specified academic year(s)
  • Only one waiver for full tuition will be allowed during an academic year
  • Maximum amount of WSU institutional scholarships/waivers awarded to a student may not exceed more than 150% total cost of tuition
  • Enroll in standard face-to-face or online classes only

Book Group

  • Each semester the Aletheia Club sponsors a book reading followed by group discussions
  • You must participate in one Aletheia book group each academic year 
  • You must RSVP in WeberSync through your eWeber portal:
    • You will receive an email letting you know when the book groups are posted
    • Login to your WeberSync account through your eWeber portal
    • Click on "My Memberships" and select "Aletheia"
    • Click "Events" and choose a book club that doesn't conflict with your class schedule.

Honors Courses

  • You must enroll in at least one Honors course per year
  • Honors courses are offered in fall and spring semesters only
  • Register for an Honors course just as you would any other class - search for "Honors" in the course subject. 
  • As an Alethian you are required to enroll in an honors course, however unless you fill out an entrance application form, you are not officially a member of the Honors Program.
  • If you have a problem registering for a class, call the Aletheia/Honors Advisor at 801-626-7336

Service Hours

  • You must register to use the WeberSync tracking system. If you have not received an invitation to join Aletheia in WeberSync please call (801) 626-7336 to request an invitation. 
  • Complete at least 12 hours of service each year
  • Service hours must be done for a non-profit organization. If you are unsure, ask.
  • A church calling or cleaning assignment does not count as community service.
  • Your service may be completed any time between June 1 - May 31 for each academic year
  • If your service is ongoing, for example if it begins before the deadline (May 31) and ends after, you need to make two entries - one with your hours up to the deadline, and the second with your hours from the deadline going forward. 

W-Lot Parking Pass

Please see instructions below on how to purchase a parking permit:

  1. Log onto your e-Weber account (you will need your wildcat username and password)
  2. Click on the "Transportation" tab under categories (left side)
  3. Select the "Parking Services" channel
  4. Click on "Purchase and pay for a parking permit", select the "Annual W" (or RW if you are a resident living in Wildcat or University Village). You will need your vehicle information; license plate, state, make, model and color, to register your vehicle.
  5. After you complete your permit order, click on save order and pay later (cost is covered as part of your Aletheia scholarship.)
  6. The permit will be mailed to your home address if you register by August 21. After August 21 the permit must be picked up at the Public Safety building on the main Weber State campus. Office hours are Mon - Fri, 7 am - 4:30 pm.
