Student Involvement Positions

Academic Outreach Support Tutor

Looking for responsible individuals to provide high quality academic support to high school students through the GEAR UP Program within the Ogden, Davis and Weber School Districts.

Job is 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from WSU
  • Familiar in all subject matters
  • Work-study eligible

Office Specialist

Individual will be assisting students and their parents at the reception desk area with scheduling appointments with program managers and advisors. Individual will also be asked to help organize projects with the various programs within the EAO department, answer phone calls, file paperwork, and set up for campus and community meetings as needed.

Job is 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Have flexible schedule to work either mornings or afternoon shifts.
  • Work-study eligible

Data Specialist

Position will require an individual who will work alongside the data coordinator within the department in compiling cohorts from outreach programs throughout Weber State. Specialist will need to have a working knowledge of Excel and Access Database systems, and know how to navigate through Banner.

Job is 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Computer literate in Microsoft programs (Excel, Access, Word, etc)
  • Work-study eligible
  • Will receive training if needed

Marketing Specialist

Will be responsible in maintaining department and program websites, social media pages, and creating monthly bulletin’s to be sent out to university and community partners. Other projects will include quarterly newsletters, brochures/pamphlets, and announcements for events. Individual will report to supervisor/marketing coordinator on a daily basis.

Job is up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in marketing software (Publisher, Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.)
  • Work-study eligible
  • Experience in creating marketing pieces preferred

Student to Student Advocate

Seeking students to go out to various high schools within the Weber and Ogden School Districts to mentor and provide resources for post secondary education to underrepresented students. Advocate will report to the Program Outreach Advisor on a weekly basis to report on progress.

Job is 20 hours per week.

  • Work-study eligible
