In partnership with the Community Involvement Center’s Volunteer Involvement Program, the charitable event will kick off the holiday season while collecting donated items the Ogden Rescue Mission needs this year, including personal hygiene products, baby formula, diapers and wipes, and cold weather clothing.
“Our main goal for this event was to work with a local charity that needed, and would receive, the support of the community,” event organizer Amber Robson said. “It’s a great opportunity for people to enjoy a fun holiday event and be involved with helping those in need.”
Santa Claus — taking a much-needed break from holiday preparations — will greet children in the bookstore, while several of his reindeer will be on display outside of the Shepherd Union Building at the northwest entrance.
The event is free, open to the public, and will feature “reindeer games” including cookie and ornament decoration, holiday-themed games and gift ideas.
Free parking will be available on campus.
