Honors Issues Forum to Address Gender Roles

OGDEN, Utah – Michael Kimmel, expert on the evolution of gender roles, will speak at an Honors Issues Forum at Weber State University Nov. 15 at noon in the Special Collections Area, Stewart Library.

Kimmel, who is a professor of sociology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, will present, "Mars and Venus, or Planet Earth: Men and Women in a New Millennium." He is the author of several books on men and masculinity.

In addition to the forum, Kimmel will present "Becoming Gendered in Society," at 7 p.m. in Special Collections.

Both lectures are free to the public and sponsored by WSU's Honors Program together with Women's Studies and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. For more information, contact the Women's Studies office at 801-626-7632.
