WSU Big Winner at Regional Broadcasting Conference

OGDEN, Utah -- WSU communications students dominated the competition at a recent regional conference of the National Broadcasting Society.

Competing against schools in Utah and Washington, Weber State students took first place in six of nine categories for the 2002 NBS video awards and swept the competition in music videos and sports/features packages. Weber State News, the weekly student television newscast covering campus news and events, won first and second place in the category of best news program or segment. WSU’s entries in the 2002 NBS audio competition took four of five categories.

Professional broadcasters in Idaho and Salt Lake City served as judges, evaluating entries on reporting, news judgment, videography and overall presentation. Regional winners advance to a national competition scheduled for March 2003 in St. Louis.
